Slicing Fresh Bread
If you make bread, by hand, not in a bread machine, for nice, even slices, remove the loaf from the pan right after baking. Lay it on its side on a cooling rack, and cover with a dish towel for 10-20 minutes. When ready to slice, there are lines "drawn" on the side of the bread. A cooling rack with wider slats makes thicker slices.
